Urgull was founded with a simple intention: to make contemporary wardrobe essentials bringing back traditional methods that have already proven their worth.
We work with traditional and artisanal textile techniques, as well as, experienced seamstresses and tailors, supported by a small network of local, family-run workshops and dye-houses. Skills that were once common, and are now rare, are preserved not by talking about them, but by using them every day.
For more than a year, we have focused on understanding a limited number of materials deeply rather than constantly changing them. From the development of our own fabrics to cutting, sewing, and garment dyeing, every step is carried out under our direct control for consistency.
We select our yarns ourselves. We choose the machines that knit them. We test how fabrics behave before dyeing, during dyeing, and after repeated wear and washing. Over time, repetition becomes understanding.
Today, we do not guess, we can predict. We know how our cotton will shrink, how it will soften and how it will take color when dyed piece by piece, once the garment is complete.
And we believe well and handmade clothing should be fairly priced. Not because it is easy, but because quality should be accessible, not exceptional. Urgull is not interested in doing more. We are interested in doing things properly, repeatedly.
